Motor Home Travel-What to Pack

The current restrictions and rules for airline travel may make motor home travel even more appealing to you. You can pack what you need without worrying about someone confiscating any “unauthorized” items. When you travel in a motor home, you also don’t need to worry about the limited space in a hotel room. If you have a plan for packing, you will ensure that you have everything both the adults and any children traveling with you in the motor home will have exactly what they need.

Some people feel that making a packing list is a waste of time, but it can also be a waste of money as well, if you have to buy the things you need while you are out on the road in your motor home. If you make a list and check things off as you pack them, you will be sure to have the items that each traveler needs. Ask your fellow travelers to give you a list of things that they want to bring as well.

Traveling with children in a motor home brings some special considerations. Make sure that you pack their special blanket and stuffed animals if they have them. Bring some old favorite toys, books and games as well as some new ones to keep them entertained during long stretches on the road.

Adults may also have a special pillow or pair of pajamas that they cannot sleep without, so make sure that it gets into the RV when you are packing. You should also make sure that all travelers an adequate supply of any prescription medications that they take so that they do not run out. Toiletries, kitchen utensils and entertainment items such as books, CDs and DVDs are things that may be forgotten if you don’t make a list. Pack carefully and you will enjoy the ride.
